Peace efforts cannot be completed without US, says Ukraine's foreign minister
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has stressed the importance of recognising that US involvement is essential to achieving real progress in peace efforts aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine war.

Details: Sybiha noted that Ukraine expects the United States to play a leading role in the process. He also underlined the importance of purchasing weapons from the US and welcomed Washington's efforts in the peace process.
"We buy weaponry from them. That's why this programme, the PURL programme, is so crucial for us, because for us it's the only way to buy strategic air defense systems and long range missiles," Sybiha said.
Meanwhile, the minister emphasised that he does not believe it is possible to bring peace efforts to an end without US efforts.
"It is not possible. We need their engagement, but also in parallel we need their influence and their pressure on Russia. I think it's important to acknowledge that," Sybiha noted.
