Details: Thirty per cent of respondents say the US remains a reliable ally, while 13% did not answer the question.
As for Europe, the majority of Ukrainians – 64% – continue to believe that European countries are providing serious support to Kyiv and are seeking to end the war on fair terms.
Meanwhile, 25% of respondents believe that European support has weakened and that Europe is pressuring Ukraine towards an unjust peace. Another 12% did not answer.
Compared with January 2026, the share of those viewing European policy towards Ukraine positively has increased. The proportion who see Europe as a reliable ally rose from 58% to 64%, while the share who believe Europe is becoming fatigued and reducing its support fell from 35% to 25%.
The KIIS poll was conducted from 7 May to 3 June 2026 through computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI), based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers across all government-controlled regions of Ukraine. A total of 1,000 respondents were interviewed.
Background:
- In April, a KIIS poll found that Ukrainians' trust in security guarantees from both Europe and the US had declined in the event of a renewed Russian attack.
- In March, another poll showed that while most Ukrainians maintained a positive view of the US overall, attitudes towards the US administration were predominantly negative.
