Large fire at Kyiv Pechersk Lavra extinguished, Mystetskyi Arsenal still burning – photos, video

As of 09:00, a large fire at the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra caused by a Russian strike on the night of 14-15 June had been extinguished, while firefighting efforts were still ongoing at the Mystetskyi Arsenal National Art and Culture Museum Complex.

Quote from Petrov: "It has not yet been extinguished. As of now [08:15], the response to the aftermath of the Russian attack at both the Lavra and the Mystetskyi Arsenal is still ongoing."

Update: Klymenko reported after 09:00 that the fire at the Lavra had been extinguished.

"The State Emergency Service of Ukraine extinguished the fire on the roof of the church at 08:35," he said.

Details: Klymenko added that the Russians had struck the Mystetskyi Arsenal National Art and Culture Museum Complex while firefighters were still dealing with the fire at the Lavra.

At the sacred site, the fire covered 800 square metres on the roof of the Assumption Cathedral.

At the museum complex, the fire spread over an area of 1,000 sq m.

Petrov said firefighting at the Mystetskyi Arsenal was still ongoing as of 09:30.
