Details: Some areas in Crimea have been left without power due to a network failure, according to the Russian-controlled energy company Krymenergo.
The outage has affected the cities of Yevpatoriia, Saky and Simferopol. Electricity has also been cut off in the settlements of Zaozerne and Rozdolne.
Power has been partially disrupted in the Simferopol, Rozdolne, Saky and Bakhchysarai districts.
In total, around 60 settlements across the Russian-occupied peninsula have been affected.
Background:
- The Russian occupation authorities have declared a regional state of emergency in Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
- Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Russian-installed governor of occupied Sevastopol, said earlier that the city had been left completely without electricity following a large-scale overnight drone attack on energy infrastructure on 24 June.
- Petrol stations have also begun closing across occupied Crimea, including outlets belonging to major fuel chains.
- The occupation authorities have said they cannot say when unrestricted sales of petrol and diesel will resume on the peninsula, acknowledging that fuel supplies are being "regulated" by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
