Belarusian fuel supplies to Russia reached record high in June

Belarus increased its rail shipments of petrol and diesel to Russia to a record level in June amid fuel shortages on the Russian market.

Details: Belarus, which operates two oil refineries with a combined nominal capacity of 24 million tonnes per year, had previously said it is ready to partially compensate for the capacity of Russian refineries lost as a result of Ukrainian drone attacks.
In June, rail deliveries of petrol from Belarusian refineries to the Russian domestic market exceeded 181,000 tonnes, more than triple the volume recorded in May. Diesel shipments increased by 50% to more than 77,000 tonnes.
Belarusian refineries also shipped more than 16,000 tonnes of aviation fuel to the Russian market in June, compared with 5,000 tonnes in May.
Overall, since the beginning of 2026, rail deliveries of petrol from Belarus to the Russian market have increased twentyfold compared with January-June 2025, exceeding 453,000 tonnes.
Diesel deliveries increased almost fivefold to 256,000 tonnes.
Meanwhile, transit rail shipments of petrol from Belarusian refineries for export through Russian ports fell sharply in June 2026, dropping to 20,350 tonnes from 165,000 tonnes in May.
