Quote: "We have introduced mandatory evacuation for all residents of two more settlements in the oblast – Vasylkivka in the Synelnykove district and Vyshchetarasivka in the Nikopol district.

The children were evacuated earlier. Now the adults must also leave these dangerous areas. More than 6,500 people remain there."

Details: Hanzha said evacuees would initially be received at one of five transit centres in the region.

There, they will be able to receive financial, legal, psychological and medical assistance, as well as food and hygiene kits.

Hanzha added that, if necessary, authorities would help evacuees find longer-term accommodation.

According to Hanzha, housing for internally displaced people is available both in safer parts of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and in other regions of Ukraine.

Background:

  • On 17 June, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast began the mandatory evacuation of families with children from a further 23 settlements in the Synelnykove district.
  • On 5 June, Hanzha said evacuations were continuing from parts of the Synelnykove and Nikopol districts.
