Quote: "Today, I signed a decree establishing a special command within the Armed Forces – the Long-Range Strike Command, effectively a command for global impact on Russia over this war.

This command must concentrate 100% of the available resources to reduce Russia's warfighting potential even more significantly. The commander in this area will be a strong leader with the highest level of experience."

Details: The decree states that the command is being established "to enhance the effectiveness of long-range strikes, reduce the enemy's ability to wage war against Ukraine, and undermine its military potential".

The president instructed the minister of defence and the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to submit a candidate for appointment as commander of the Long-Range Strike Command.
