MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak has reported that Yuliia Svyrydenko is to become Ukraine's ambassador to the US after she steps down as prime minister. According to media reports, the current ambassador, Olha Stefanishyna, has requested to leave her post for personal reasons.

Details: Zhelezniak also said the frontrunner for prime minister is Serhii Koretskyi.

At the same time, Interfax-Ukraine has reported that the current ambassador to the US, Olha Stefanishyna, is leaving the diplomatic service of her own accord and the president is pleased with her work.

A source said Stefanishyna asked to step down last week due to personal circumstances.

  • Sources told Ukrainska Pravda that Naftogaz CEO Serhii Koretskyi, Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov are among the candidates being considered for the role of prime minister. Zelenskyy held separate meetings with each one on 12 July.
