Russians attack gas production facilities in Kharkiv Oblast for three consecutive days

Russia has deliberately been targeting Naftogaz gas production facilities in Kharkiv Oblast for three consecutive days.

Details: On Sunday 19 July, a fire broke out following a strike on one of the company's production facilities. Firefighters from the State Emergency Service quickly extinguished the blaze.

"The equipment had to be shut down, resulting in the loss of some production capacity," Naftogaz said.

On the morning of Monday 20 July, Russia struck another facility, causing extensive damage. The scale of the damage is still being assessed.

During both attacks, employees were in shelters, and no one was injured.

Background:

• Early on 17 July, Russia launched a large-scale drone attack on one of Naftogaz Group's gas production facilities in Kharkiv Oblast. It was the 250th attack on the company's facilities since the beginning of the year.
• Also on 17 July, the Naftogaz Supervisory Board appointed the group's Commercial Director, Serhii Fedorenko, as acting head of the company.
