Poland discusses scenario of Russian provocation using drones disguised as Ukrainian
The Polish government's Committee on National Security has considered a possible Russian false flag operation in which Russia could use drones bearing Ukrainian markings.

Details: Minister of National Defence Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said that in a hypothetical scenario, a swarm of drones could appear over Poland or other countries on NATO's eastern flank, with their markings indicating they belong to the Ukrainian military.
"We have already encountered provocations involving drones, so we have seen what the Russian Federation is capable of. That is why our vigilance and the information that such actions may occur is crucial," Kosiniak-Kamysz said at a press conference on 21 July.
The defence minister added that Poland, the Baltic states, Finland and Romania could all be at risk from such an operation.
Other hybrid threats that Russia is using to put pressure on the West were also discussed at the committee meeting, including GPS signal jamming and the organisation of sabotage operations.
The minister said that a significant portion of today's discussions was devoted to the situation in Ukraine. In this context, he said that for anyone who believes Ukraine should not be helped in its fight against Russia, he would like to cite the number of combat engagements the Russian Federation initiated in the past week alone.
"That is 904 clashes, meaning actions directed against the Ukrainian armed forces on the front line or in other areas," the Polish Defence Minister said. Among them, he cited air strikes (particularly on the night of 18-19 July), the use of cruise missiles, glide bombs and the use of ballistic missiles "to the greatest extent since the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022".
