Even anti-drone nets did not save it: Ukraine reveals details of strike on Russian oil refinery 2,000 km away – photo, videos

Drones operated by Ukraine's Special Operations Forces (SOF) have once again struck the Tyumen Oil Refinery despite its location deep inside Russia – more than 2,000 km from the Ukrainian border – and its protection by anti-drone netting.

Quote: "Special Operations Forces drones covered more than 2,000 km to reach the target. The plant's key units were enclosed in anti-drone netting, but this failed to save them. A fire is currently raging on the facility's premises."

Details: The Special Operations Forces added that the underground resistance movement Chernaya Iskra ("Black Spark") helped facilitate the strike on the refinery deep within Russian territory.

"This is a repeat strike on the Tyumen Oil Refinery by Ukraine's Special Operations Forces. The facility was previously attacked successfully a month ago, on 20 June," the Special Operations Forces noted.

For reference: The Tyumen Oil Refinery is capable of processing up to 9 million tonnes of crude oil per year. Due to its high processing depth, it specialises in the production of high-grade petrol and diesel fuel.

Background: The Ukrainian president reported earlier that the defence forces had struck a Russian military-industrial complex company, an oil refinery in Tyumen, a fuel and lubricants depot, transport vessels, and a warship in the Caspian Sea.
