Russian occupation authorities announce electricity restrictions in Sevastopol

The Russian-installed authorities in occupied Sevastopol announced temporary electricity supply restrictions on the night of 26-27 July, describing the measure as "necessary".

Quote: "The electricity supply has been temporarily restricted in Sevastopol. This measure is necessary. It is required to reduce the load on the power grids outside our region and prevent a failure affecting the entire energy system."

Details: Razvozhayev said that special measures have been introduced at various facilities, while essential public infrastructure has been switched to backup power supply systems.

He also announced that an air-raid warning had been issued in Sevastopol and claimed that Russian air defence systems were responding to an alleged attack by Ukrainian drones.

• Razvozhayev said that Sevastopol had been left without electricity following a large-scale drone attack on energy infrastructure on the night of 23-24 June.
