Almost 70% of Ukrainians support joining EU, over 60% support joining NATO – survey

In the event of a referendum, almost 70% of Ukrainians would vote in favour of Ukraine's accession to the EU, and over 61% would vote to join NATO.

Details: Were a referendum on Ukraine's EU accession to be held in the near future, 69.2% would vote in favour of joining and 22.2% against, while 8.7% said they would not vote or had not made up their mind.

This figure is lower than in a series of previous surveys, though not the lowest recorded over the past two years.

A total of 61.2% would vote to join NATO in a referendum, while 29.5% would vote against. A combined 9.4% of respondents would not vote or had not made up their mind.

Support for NATO membership has increased slightly compared with the previous two Socis polls, though the overall two-year trend shows a decline in support.

Data collection was conducted on 28 July-2 August 2026 from 2,000 respondents. The margin of error is +/– 2.6%.

Background: A June survey showed that 79% of Ukrainians are in favour of EU membership and 63% support NATO membership.
