Von der Leyen welcomes US Senate vote on sanctions against Russia

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has welcomed the US Senate's approval of a bill introducing sanctions against Russia.

Details: Von der Leyen stressed that sanctions should target all sources of revenue that enable the Kremlin to continue its aggression.

Details: Von der Leyen also said that coordinated action by the US and EU could deprive Russia of the resources it needs to wage war.

She added that through strong and complementary sanctions, Europe and the US could demonstrate the potential for cooperation between historic partners.
