Russian attacks cause power outages in four Ukrainian regions

Russian attacks have caused new power outages in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Sumy oblasts.

Details: Emergency repair work is continuing in Odesa Oblast following the large-scale missile and drone attack on the night of 8-9 August. Power has already been restored to a significant number of consumers who lost electricity, but Russian forces attacked energy facilities in the region again over the past 24 hours.

Ukrenergo urged consumers to shift their electricity use to the period when solar power plants operate most efficiently, between 10:00 and 16:00.

Residents of Odesa Oblast are also being asked to continue using electricity sparingly to avoid overloading equipment operating in the aftermath of the massive attack.

Background: On the night of 9-10 August, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with a Kh-59/69 air-to-surface missile and three Banderol loitering munitions as well as 126 Shahed (some jet-powered) and Gerbera attack drones and Parodiya decoy UAVs.
