For reference: Orsknefteorgsintez is one of the largest oil refineries in Orenburg Oblast and an important facility in Russia's fuel and energy sector.

The refinery has a processing capacity of around 6 million tonnes of oil per year. It produces petrol, diesel and aviation fuel, fuel oil, bitumen and other petroleum products.

Background: Earlier, Russian authorities, propagandists and local social media channels reported that a fire had broken out at a Rosneft oil refinery in Komsomolsk-on-Amur in Russia's Khabarovsk Krai on 11 August. A refinery also caught fire in Orsk, Orenburg Oblast, after reports of a drone attack and explosions in the area.
