Tourists were evacuated from the area while checks were carried out.

Law enforcement officers are working to recover the drone wreckage from the Black Sea and the beach.

Its origin is currently unknown. Antena3 reported that it had been most likely washed ashore by waves from the Black Sea.

Background:

  • This latest incident occurred after drone wreckage was found again on the beach in Costinești (about 17 km from Saturn), likely from the same drone that was found there the previous day.
  • Also on 14 August, a drone crashed in Romania's Tulcea County, about five kilometres from the border with Ukraine.
  • On the same day, three suspicious objects were found at different locations along Bulgaria's Black Sea coast: a fixed-wing drone, probably a reconnaissance drone and possible drone wreckage.
