Quote from Putin: "It is clear that the pace of economic growth is affected by a whole range of factors, including external pressure and terrorist attacks on industrial and infrastructure facilities.
It is clear that such attacks do not have, have not had and cannot have any critical consequences. But of course, they do cause us damage. That is obvious; we understand, see and know this."
Details: Putin added: "We need to strengthen the country's sovereignty and improve efficiency both in the areas of defence and security and in the socio-economic sphere."
Background:
- At the end of June, following a series of Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries and fuel shortages in many regions of Russia, Putin claimed that the damage caused by these strikes was "not critical". However, he said there was a need to increase the production of air defence systems to protect these facilities and improve the work of units tasked with shooting down drones.
- It was previously reported that Wildberries and other online marketplaces have asked the Russian government for hundreds of billions of roubles in aid.
