Ukrainian air defence downs 88 out of 108 Russian drones

Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with 108 drones of various types, including 47 jet-powered Shaheds, since the evening of 1 October. Air defence forces have downed 88 UAVs, but hits have also been recorded. The attack is ongoing.

Quote: "As of 08:00, [Ukrainian] air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 88 Shahed, Gerbera and other types of drones. Hits by aerial assets have been recorded at 11 locations and downed aerial assets (debris) landed at five locations."

Details: The drones were launched from the Russian cities of Bryansk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk as well as from the temporarily occupied cities of Donetsk and Hvardiiske (in Crimea).

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

As of 08:00, the attack was ongoing, as several Russian drones were still in Ukrainian airspace.
