Russian forces have attacked the Kherson thermal power plant – the city's main source of heating – with a guided aerial bomb, causing serious damage.

Details: Serhii Fedorenko, acting CEO of Naftogaz, said: "The scale of the damage can be assessed once the security situation permits. We are coordinating further actions with the local authorities."

Naftogaz stressed that the Kherson thermal power plant is a civilian facility designed to supply heating to the city's residents. Russian forces have attacked the plant dozens of times this year.
Background:
- New power outages were recorded in five oblasts on the morning of 26 August as a result of Russian drone attacks and artillery shelling.
- On the night of 25-26 August, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 162 Shahed (some jet-powered) and Gerbera attack drones as well as Parodiya decoy UAVs.
