House in Kyiv catches fire after drone debris lands on it

A house in Kyiv's Dniprovskyi district caught fire on the evening of 29 August when debris from a drone landed on it.

Details: Another air-raid warning was issued in Kyiv from 18:22 to 18:45 due to the threat of Russian UAVs.

Background:

  • A drone crashed in Kyiv's Obolonskyi district on the afternoon of 29 August, damaging a café and killing a two-year-old girl. Another drone struck a non-residential building in the capital's Podilskyi district. Several people were also reported to have been injured.
  • The number of people injured in Kyiv as a result of Russian UAV attacks on 29 August later rose to eight. A second strike hit a non-residential building in the capital.
  • The Air Force reported that during the day on 29 August, Russia attacked Ukraine with 224 attack UAVs, the vast majority of which were heading towards Kyiv.
