Polish fighter jets intercept Russian reconnaissance aircraft

Polish fighter jets intercepted a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft 30 km north of the town of Łeba on 31 August.

Quote: "Russia has once again put our deterrence and air defence systems to the test. Before noon, our fighter jets intercepted a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft 30 km north of Łeba."

Details: Kosiniak-Kamysz added that there was "no violation" of Polish airspace over the Baltic Sea.

• On 3 August, Polish fighter jets intercepted a Russian reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea. Poland reported a similar incident the following day.
