Explosion at Rivne police station occurred during bomb disposal operations
An explosion at a district police station in Rivne on 31 August which killed one member of staff and injured three others occurred as bomb disposal experts were at work. A criminal investigation has been opened into the negligent storage of firearms or ammunition.

Quote: "At around 15:30 on 31 August, an explosion occurred in the courtyard of Police Station No. 1 in Rivne while bomb disposal experts were carrying out their duties.
As a result of the detonation, one bomb disposal expert was killed and three other police officers from the same unit were injured."
Details: The State Bureau of Investigation has launched a pre-trial investigation under Article 264 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for the negligent storage of firearms or ammunition.
