Quote: "I don't sleep in my bed anymore. I fall asleep on a mattress in the bathroom. It is the safest place in my hotel room.

I am tired. Sometimes scared. But I am not complaining. Kyiv is my mission. And knowing everything I know today, I would still choose no other diplomatic posting.

But the intensity of these attacks is becoming very difficult. People are exhausted. Cities are exhausted. The whole country is living under permanent stress."

Details: In her post, Mathernová also enumerated the consequences of last night's missile strikes on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities.

The ambassador added: "Ukraine does not need to be told to be resilient. Ukrainians have proven that every single day. They need to be able to sleep."
