Explosion near railway station in Augsburg, Germany injures two Ukrainians
Two Ukrainian citizens – a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man – were injured when an unidentified object exploded in the German city of Augsburg.

Details: The explosion occurred at around 03:15 on 2 September on Bahnhofstrasse, near the city's main railway station.
According to law enforcement, an unidentified object detonated in a passageway between buildings in a retail and office complex.
The explosion left two Ukrainian citizens with minor injuries and acoustic trauma. According to police, the Ukrainians were passers-by who happened to be at the scene when the incident occurred.
The blast wave also damaged the facades and shop windows of nearby buildings, including a jeweller's, a bank branch and a household chemicals shop.
Investigators are currently determining what type of explosive device was used and examining all possible explanations for the incident, including a possible criminal dispute.
In addition, another suspicious object was found at around 08:30 in a pedestrian underpass at the main railway station. Police evacuated the station and completely halted rail traffic.
"With the help of a sniffer dog trained to detect explosives and specialists from the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office, it was ultimately established that the object posed no danger," the police said.
Background:

- In April 2024, a Russian man attacked two Ukrainian servicemen who were undergoing rehabilitation at a shopping centre in the city of Murnau. Both defenders died of stab wounds.
- On 7 March 2025, the Munich Regional Court sentenced a 58-year-old Russian man to life imprisonment for the murders of the two Ukrainian servicemen.
