Kherson is currently receiving as much electricity as a single supermarket in Kyiv due to intensified Russian attacks.

Quote: "Now, the whole city is receiving electricity at the level of one supermarket in Kyiv. In other words, we do not have the capacity we used to have to supply [the city with] electricity."

Details: Prokudin said that the city might be left without electricity for a very long time despite the administration's efforts to work on alternative options for electricity and heat supply.

In addition, Prokudin noted that by attacking Kherson, the Russians are training and testing weapons before redeploying them to other parts of the front line.

Around 20 people are reported killed or injured in the city every day. Prokudin said around 80% of Kherson's residents have left the city.

Previously, Kherson had not suffered from power cuts on such a large scale.

Quote: "If you compare it with Kyiv, which was without electricity last year during the heating season, Kherson was living normally because we had been building defences since 2023. There was only one week without electricity, and people hope it will continue to be that way.

But I am telling you the truth: it will not."

Details: In August, Russian forces attacked the city with 1.5-tonne guided aerial bombs, which can penetrate defensive structures more easily. For this reason, Prokudin believes the situation will be different.

"Children who are here now are not only exposed to the danger of having to live underground, walk under nets and run across streets, but will also have to live without electricity and the internet, and their right to education will be disrupted. And their parents are neglecting this," the head of the administration said.
