Details: "As I told you, we met, and I think that in the coming weeks we – Ukraine, America and Europe – will have an opportunity to discuss certain details that we would rather not mention aloud today," the Ukrainian president said.
He stressed: "We want results, concrete developments."
"There were several genuinely new ideas. We have discussed them," the president said.
Zelenskyy emphasised that these ideas need to be analysed in order to "understand what the details are, what steps could be taken, and whether this will bring us closer to peace".
"Yes, everything possible must be done to ensure that trilateral meetings – or trilateral meetings plus our European partners – take place," Zelenskyy added.
Background:
- Zelenskyy said that during the talks in Kyiv between Ukraine, US presidential envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, and the national security advisers from France, the UK and Germany, the parties agreed to meet again in the same format very soon.
- Zelenskyy said that three rounds of talks were held on 6 September, all of which were "very substantive", focusing on possible parameters for ending the war and short-term support for Ukraine.
