Rubio: Roadmap for resuming Ukraine-Russia talks could be drawn up in the coming weeks
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has told journalists during his visit to Colombia that a roadmap for resuming negotiations between Russia and Ukraine could be drawn up in the coming weeks.

Details: Rubio described the talks involving US President Donald Trump's special envoys in Moscow and Kyiv as "substantive".
Quote: "I don't want to characterise them [the talks] as good or bad, or productive or unproductive, other than they were substantive. New ideas were bandied about. It's a very difficult conflict."
Details: Rubio noted that there has been no significant progress towards reaching compromises between Ukraine and Russia.
"You haven't seen much movement on either side in terms of their willingness to make accommodations, and both sides have very bright 'red lines' up to this point," he stressed.
Rubio said he hopes that the meetings will help pave the way for the resumption of US-mediated negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
"So I don't want to be overly optimistic, but I also am not pessimistic in the sense that I think there's an opportunity over the next few weeks to develop a roadmap moving forward to restart talks and maybe reach a conclusion there that's acceptable to both sides. Because that's what it's going to take in order for it to end," he said.
