Quote from the US official: "This was accepted by the Ukrainians in Oslo yesterday and by the Russians in St Petersburg today."

Details: Following a meeting with Witkoff in St Petersburg on Wednesday, Yury Ushakov, an aide to the Russian leader, told Russian journalists that Vladimir Putin had agreed to hold trilateral talks in November.

Quote from Ushakov: "Our president informed Steve Witkoff that we are, in principle, ready to resume the aforementioned trilateral negotiations on the main topic around the 10th of November."

Details: He added that the topic concerns building a security system for Russia and Ukraine after the end of the conflict, and that the talks could take place in Abu Dhabi.

Ushakov claimed Putin was ready to resume the trilateral talks several weeks ago, but the Ukrainian strikes on Russia on the day of the parliamentary elections led to their cancellation.

The Russian leader's adviser noted that Witkoff had briefed Putin on the discussions in Oslo.

Quote from Ushakov: "The Oslo talks didn't contain much that was useful in the context of resolving the Ukrainian crisis."
