Zelenskyy expects progress in energy talks after meeting Trump
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said he expects to meet with a US delegation at the end of September, when Ukraine will raise issues related to energy and food security.

Details: Zelenskyy said he does not expect serious negotiations with Russia during the pre-election period in Russia but hopes for results from a meeting with the US side at the end of September on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
He added that Kyiv remains in daily contact with the US delegation, with energy and food security among the key issues.
"We speak about what outcome we can have, how to prepare for the trilateral meeting, and what outcome can be after the trilateral meeting. Yes, all the partners in the world raise the topic of grain and agricultural products, which Russia began to block in the Black Sea. We responded, and we did the same. But we have to respond. Otherwise, Russia will never stop this war," he said.
Zelenskyy expects results from a possible meeting with US President Donald Trump in New York. However, he noted that Russia could intensify its attacks on Ukraine during this period.
"But knowing Russia, when they hear that we have somewhere negotiations with Europeans, with Canadians, with Americans, when they hear, they try to intensify attacks on us. So just to break any kind of negotiations, just to break any kind of dialogue. But we believe in peace, and we will move in such a direction. There's only one way to stop the war, no other way," the Ukrainian president said.
He specified that he expects the first results of the talks with the US at the end of September.
Background: US President Donald Trump said that he had had a "great" conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin at the beginning of the week and that Putin wants to make a deal to end the war in Ukraine.
