Russia threatens to further intensify attacks on Kyiv following hits in Moscow
The Russian Ministry of Defence is threatening to intensify attacks on Kyiv following Ukrainian attacks on Moscow.

Details: Reportedly "in response to attacks by Armed Forces of Ukraine on civilian infrastructure", the Russians are threatening to step up attacks "on military targets in Kyiv".
They also claim that the attempted Ukrainian attack on Moscow failed.
The Russian Ministry of Defence alleged that 1,951 Ukrainian UAVs and 8 cruise missiles were shot down over the course of the day.
For reference: Russia is in its fifth year of conducting an unprovoked full-scale war against Ukraine. Starting in 2022, attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure and other targets, particularly in Kyiv, intensify every autumn. In recent weeks, Kyiv has been subjected to Russian attacks virtually around the clock, including with jet-powered UAVs and ballistic missiles.

- On the night of 19-20 September, Ukrainian drones reportedly conducted a large-scale drone attack over Moscow and Moscow Oblast. A major fire apparently broke out at the Sofyino logistics technopark and the oil refinery in Kapotnya. Additionally, the Moscow oil refinery in the Kapotnya district caught fire after a drone attack.
- On 20 September, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the Russian capital had come under its largest drone attack to date.
- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the defence forces used a range of Ukrainian long-range weapons, including Flamingo, Palianytsia and Pelican, during the overnight attack on the Moscow region.
- Ukraine's General Staff has reported that three units at the Moscow oil refinery were damaged in an overnight strike. The defence forces also hit a Russian Buk-M3 air defence system, a Nebo-U radar station and a drone production site on occupied territories.
