Ukraine has thwarted Russian attempt to bypass Dobropillia and approach Druzhkivka

Ukrainian defenders have thwarted a Russian attempt to reach logistics routes to encircle the city of Druzhkivka and strike towards Dobropillia in Donetsk Oblast.

Quote: "An enemy attempt to reach logistics routes as part of an effort to encircle Druzhkivka and advance towards Dobropillia has been thwarted by forces from the Ultima Ratio Special Reconnaissance and Infiltration Detachment, the 1st and 6th Battalions of the 12th Special Forces Brigade Azov, the Tuman Special Forces Detachment of the National Guard's 1st Corps Azov and the Shkval Battalion of the 425th Skelia Separate Assault Regiment, with support from the Lasar's Group Special Forces Detachment of the National Guard."

Details: Ukrainian defenders began the operation back in early August.

Azov noted that this is Skelia's first operation under Azov's operational command.

It also reported that troops in Azov's area of responsibility had cleared the area of Russian forces that had built up there over the summer.

Overall, Russia has lost 237 personnel who were killed or permanently put out of action during the operation. Another 44 troops were wounded or otherwise temporarily unable to fight. Three Russian soldiers were also captured.

Background: The Skelia unit – Ukraine's 425th Separate Assault Regiment – has been transferred under the operational command of the 1st Corps Azov.
