Moscow comes under large-scale drone attack – photos, videos

The city of Moscow and Moscow Oblast have been attacked by 650 drones overnight, from the evening of 5 October until the morning of 6 October.

Details: In the very early hours of 6 October, Rosaviatsia reported restrictions on operations at Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports. Similar restrictions were subsequently introduced at Sheremetyevo and Zhukovsky airports.

After 02:30 Kyiv time, Sobyanin claimed that 13 "drones flying towards Moscow" had been shot down.

Exilenova+ and other Telegram channels reported that Moscow Oblast was under a large-scale drone attack, with UAVs entering the oblast from several directions.

Update: At around 03:00, Sobyanin reported another 15 drones that had allegedly been downed whilst heading towards Moscow.

As usual, he added that "emergency services are working at the sites where debris has fallen".

Sobyanin later reported dozens more downed drones, bringing the total to 93.

In addition, Telegram channels reported that the Volodarskaya Linear Production and Dispatching Station (LPDS) was on fire following the attack near the settlement of Volodarskogo and the village of Konstantinovo in Moscow Oblast. The facility is one of the largest oil storage depots and a dispatching hub for major pipelines carrying refined petroleum products in the Moscow area.

Update: In the morning, Sobyanin said that 650 UAVs had been flying towards Moscow Oblast between 20:30 on 5 October and 05:00 on 6 October, Moscow time.

According to the Russian official, "most of them have been destroyed by air defence forces at long range. A total of 105 drones have been destroyed while approaching Moscow."

After 05:00, Rosaviatsia also reported that Moscow's airports had resumed normal operations.
