Ukraine's air defence downs 114 out of 137 Russian drones, attack ongoing

Russia attacked Ukraine with 137 drones on the night of 5-6 October. Air defence forces have downed 114 UAVs.

Details: Russian forces launched Shahed (49 jet-powered) and Gerbera attack drones, Banderol/Dan-T drone missiles and Parodiya decoy UAVs from the Russian cities of Oryol, Kursk, Shatalovo, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk as well as from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk Oblast and Hvardiiske in Crimea and from the waters of the Sea of Azov.

Early reports indicated that as of 08:00, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 114 drones of various types.

Hits by aerial assets have been recorded at 17 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at four locations.
