Details: According to the General Staff, the refinery is involved in supplying the Russian army.
Quote from the General Staff: "The Omsk Oil Refinery is the largest oil refining facility in the Russian Federation. It has an annual crude oil refining capacity of more than 21 million tonnes. The refinery specialises in producing a wide range of fuels, lubricants and petrochemical products."
The company Fire Point specified that the strike on the Omsk Oil Refinery had been carried out using upgraded FP-1 long-range attack drones. The drones flew more than 2,500 km to reach the refinery.
"A hit on the target was recorded, followed by a fire," Fire Point stated.
Ukraine's defence forces first struck the Omsk Oil Refinery on 6 July 2026. According to the General Staff, that summer attack hit the ELOU-AVT-11 primary crude oil distillation unit, which has a designed processing capacity of 8.4 million tonnes of crude oil per year.
Quote from the General Staff: "Strikes against such facilities are an exercise of Ukraine's inherent right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter and are aimed at reducing the military and economic potential of the Russian Federation."
Background: Earlier, Ukrainska Pravda reported that on 6 October and on the night of 6-7 October 2026, Ukraine's defence forces struck a number of Russian military facilities in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and in Russia.
