Quote from Sandu: "When a drone crashed in Etulia, a predominantly Gagauz district, it did not ask what language people speak there. Nor did the drones that exploded between Ceadîr-Lunga and Valea Perjei or in Crocmaz. We all share the same concerns, and we want the same thing: to know that our children are safe and to live in peace."

Details: Sandu noted that joining the European Union means "security, more opportunities for development, and a guarantee that every community will be able to preserve and promote its culture".

Background:

  • According to the Moldovan Defence Ministry, 63 cases of unauthorised UAV flights have been recorded in Moldova since the beginning of the year, including 15 in October alone.
  • On the night of 15-16 October, five drones flew into Moldova for a few minutes from the direction of Ukraine. Towards evening, another drone violated the country's airspace and exploded in a field.
  • The Moldovan Foreign Ministry has condemned the repeated violations of Moldova's airspace.
