In Kharkiv, Russian shelling has caused a fire near the buildings of the Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology.

Around 20:20, air raid sirens sounded in the city. Later, Kharkiv residents reported the sounds of explosions and volleys of Russian artillery fire.

Video and photos shared by eyewitnesses on social media show a significant fire in the Pyatyhatky district in northern Kharkiv.

After 21:00, eyewitnesses reported that a dormitory was on fire in Pyatyhatky.

Update: The State Emergency Service reported that at about 21:35 they went to put out the fire on the 5th floor of the dormitory at 19 Valter Street. At that time, 6 rooms were on fire.

According to preliminary data, no one was killed or wounded.

Background: During the night of 9-10 March, Russian occupiers fired artillery at Kharkiv and its surrounding area. The city’s largest shopping centre – Nikolsky – was destroyed, and in the village of Slobozhanske a shell struck a private house, killing 4 people.
