Only 9 out of 14 humanitarian corridors planned for Sunday were operational

At a briefing on 13 March, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk explained how many people had been evacuated during the day.

Details: Iryna Vereshchuk stated that Mariupol was under protracted shelling and that the humanitarian cargo remained blocked in Berdyansk, halfway to the city. "We will resume the attempt to reach and break through to our native Mariupol tomorrow morning," Vereshchuk promised.

Evacuation attempts failed in the towns of Popasna, Shchastya and Hirs’ke village due to shelling by the Russian occupying forces, according to Iryna Vereshchuk.

The corridor was blocked by protracted shelling in the city of Polohy, Zaporizhya oblast.

600 people were rescued from the town of Borodyanka and taken to Zhytomyr on the third attempt at opening the corridor. 600 people were evacuated from Bucha, near Kyiv.

3,950 people were evacuated from Kyiv oblast. 1,600 people were rescued in Luhansk oblast.
