According to Klychko: "The capital – the heart of Ukraine – will be defended! We won’t be brought to our knees! Today the efforts of every Kyivan matter. Some of us have joined the territorial defence and have weapons in our hands. Some of us are helping to fortify the city. Food needs to be prepared for our defenders and for those Kyivans who lack social support. Food has to be delivered. There is plenty of other work. Everyone who loves Kyiv and wants it to survive must help as much as they can!"

Details: Klychko added that since the beginning of the war, many women and children have left the capital for safer places, and that many men who helped their families leave have now returned.

At the same time, the Mayor called on those men who had not yet done so to return to the city.

According to Klychko: "Men of Kyiv, come back! We must defend our city and our future, not sit around somewhere and offer our sympathies. Only together we will stand! Glory to Ukraine!"
