According to Putin: "The struggle we are waging is the struggle for our sovereignty, for the future of our country and our children. We will continue fighting for the right to be and to remain Russia."

Details: Putin called those who have Western values and want to maintain a Western lifestyle "national traitors."

According to the President of the Russian Federation, the West is relying on such citizens to harm the country.

At the same time, Putin noted that he holds nothing against Russian people spending money abroad.

Speaking at a meeting on social and economic support measures for the regions, he reiterated his criticism of Western countries, saying that they were trying to "cancel" Russia.

According to Putin, the West is trying to make Russia irrelevant, to "turn it into a weak, dependent" state, and  to dismember it, which he called the West’s "best-case scenario." To this end, he said, Western countries will rely on the "fifth column."

Putin notes that the West is trying to divide Russian society from within by relying on "the so-called fifth column, national traitors, those who earn money here in our country, but live there, where "live" has not just a geographic sense, but an ideological one, meaning their thoughts, their slave mentality."

"I am not at all denouncing those who have a villa in Miami or on the French Riviera, who cannot do without foie gras, oysters, or the so-called gender freedoms. The problem is not this at all, the problem is that many of those people are also mentally there, and not here, with our people, with Russia," the President said.

According to Putin, Russian people "will always be able to distinguish true patriots from scum and traitors" and will simply "spit out"  the latter "like a fly that accidentally flew into your mouth".

He thinks that such a "natural and necessary self-purging of society" will strengthen the country.

The Russian head of state stressed that many countries have resigned themselves to "living with their backs bent and subserviently accepting all the decisions of their sovereign" and said that Russia will never end up "in such a miserable and humiliating state."
