The Ombudsman's office received complaints about rape by the Russian perpetrators

The office of the Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights has been receiving complaints submitted by Ukrainians about sexual crimes committed by the Russian military personnel since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Verbatim: "Since the beginning of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, the Commissioner's hotline has received information about the violent crimes committed by the Russian Federation military personnel, including crimes against sexual freedom and sexual integrity."

Details: Lyudmila Denisova reports that this information will be passed on to law enforcement officers.

Background: There have been multiple reports about rape commited by Russin occyping forces in social networks since the beginning of the war.

Besides, Head of Mykolaiv regional state administration Vitaly Kim mentioned rape committed by Russian troops in a coversation with Aleksey Navalniy, representative of the Russian opposition.

Although local media reported dozens of complaints from Ukrainian women in the first days of the Kherson blockade, there are still no complaints about such crimes committed by Russians in official Ukrainian agencies.

The aggresssors brag to their relatives in Russia about the instances of rape in conversations intercepted by Ukrainian defenders.

Dmytro Kuleba, Verbatim: "When bombs fall on your cities, when soldiers rape women in occupied cities, and we, unfortunately, encounter many cases when Russian soldiers rape women in Ukrainian cities, it is certainly difficult to talk about the efficiency of international law in these circumstances."
