As of the morning of 26 March, the 31st day of the Russian Federation’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 136 children have been killed in Ukraine.

Details: 199 children have suffered wounds of different degrees of severity. Child casualties (wounded or killed) by region:

136 children lost their lives.

On 25 March, a 9-year-old child was killed and another was injured in Russian shelling in the Donetsk region.

On 24 March, a 13-year-old girl from a settlement in the Mykolayiv region suffered numerous wounds to her face as a result of Russian artillery shelling.

On 23 March, shrapnel from the shelling of a pedestrian bridge in Chernihiv injured a family with an 11-year-old boy.

Daily bombings and shelling have damaged 570 educational institutions, 73 of which were completely destroyed. The situation is the worst in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Mykolayiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions, and in the city of Kyiv. In addition, more than 40 children’s facilities were affected by Russian fire, including medical facilities, art schools, sports facilities, and libraries.

Important: This information is not complete, as it is not possible to inspect the sites of shelling in areas of active hostilities and in the temporarily occupied territories.

Background: Olena Zelenska, the First Lady of Ukraine, has published photos of the Ukrainian children who died at the hands of the Russian forces. She called on NATO to close the skies over Ukraine to stop the killings of Ukrainians.
