General Staff: Russia may deploy 800 fighters from Transnistria in Ukraine

Russia may deploy up to 800 servicemen from the unrecognised Transnistria in the war with Ukraine, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff: "According to the available information, due to many casualties, the enemy continues to conduct covert mobilisation under the guise of training camps in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, Krasnodarsky Kray, and some parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions; [Russia has also] intensified its volunteer recruitment efforts for the war in dUkraine.

In addition, there are cases of young men of conscription age being expelled from higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation in order to replenish the reserve of the Russian army.

The occupiers do not rule out the possibility of involving up to 800 servicemen from the unrecognised Transnistrian-Moldavian Republic in the war with Ukraine, but the moral and psychological condition of these personnel remains low."

Details: According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, panic is spreading among the personnel of the occupying forces due to huge losses among both personnel and equipment.

Earlier, the media reported that Russia plans to involve Syrian mercenaries in the war against Ukraine. According to Ukrayinska Pravda, the Russian Defence Ministry plane flew to Syria twice in late February.
