Electricity at Chornobyl Nuclear Station and in the town of Slavutych is fully turned off

As a result of the actions of the Russian troops, the Chornobyl nuclear power plant was left without electricity.

This was reported by the press service of Ukrenergo (Ukrainian energy utility company).

"The fighting is still under way, making it currently impossible to repair and restore power. The town of Slavutych is also without electricity. Ukrenergo is monitoring the situation and will report on any changes," the statement said.

Reminder:

Nuclear material monitoring systems at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant have stopped transmitting data to the IAEA.

On 24 February, after a fierce battle, the Russian military seized the Chornobyl nuclear power plant. Staff are being held hostage. The station is currently operating according to plans. Ukraine has called the Russian seizure of Chornobyl nuclear terrorism.
