According to Zhyvytskyi: "Over 100 civilians were killed. Unfortunately, this number is increasing every day as new bodies are found – bodies with their hands tied, with signs of torture, shot in the head, these are all frightening cases.

Many people have gone missing. Some are being held captive; talks are being held with regard to their liberation. There are many residents whom we know nothing about: shelled cars have been found on the roads and in forests but we don’t know what has happened to the people who were in those cars.

There are many wounded in our hospitals and many wounded in the hospitals of the bordering regions. Those who endured the occupation and those who witnessed thousands of units of the enemy’s military equipment passing through their towns and villages have suffered a severe psychological trauma. The occupiers shelled everything around them; they fired on civilians, on the elderly and children from tanks, from machine guns, and from grenade launchers. Our people were hiding in bogs, in farm buildings, and in silage pits. The Russians created terror and horror in our region."

Details: According to preliminary estimates, destruction of local infrastructure has incurred losses that exceed 10 billion UAH.

"It is still impossible to estimate the economic losses, the lost earnings and unpaid taxes, and the enterprises that have ceased to operate," Zhyvytskyi said.

250 million UAH has already been received to carry out urgent repair work in the cities that suffered the most damage during the Russian invasion: Okhtyrka, Trostyanets, Boromlia, Krasnopillia, and the Konotop district.
