Ukrainian Maritime Guard declares mine threat in Danube delta

The Maritime Guard of the Border Service of Ukraine has banned fishing and shipping in nine estuaries of the Danube due to the danger posed by drifting mines laid in the Black Sea by the Russians.

Details: Due to the threat of mines, it is forbidden to pass through the estuaries of Ochakivske (0-6 km), Prorva, Poludenne, Potapove, Ankudinove, Shvydke, Skhidne and Tsyhanske, near Starostambulske estuary (from the estuary of the Limba to the point of confluence with the Black Sea), as well as in connecting channels and in Zhebrianska Bay.

It is noted that small vessels are also banned from commencing passage in the inland waterways of the Ukrainian Danube region.
