Regions: battles in Kharkiv and Luhansk regions, shelling of Donetsk region

On the night of 23 April, occupying forces fired on the Donetsk region along the entire front line, and active fighting continued in the Kharkiv and Luhansk regions.

The night was relatively calm in many regions of Ukraine: in Volyn, Zakarpattia, Rivne region, Ivano-Frankivsk region, Khmelnytskyi region, Chernivtsi region, Lviv region, Odesa region, Zaporizhzhia region, Vinnytsia region, Ternopil region, Kyiv region, Poltava region, Zhytomyr region, Cherkasy region, Kirovohrad region, Sumy region and Chernihiv region.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region there was one air-raid siren at night. Artillery shelling took place near Zelenodolsk. Neither people nor houses were affected. In the morning the situation was quiet.
Kharkiv: at night, people could hear air-raid sirens, and artillery shelling of residential areas in the east continued. In the afternoon, there was intense shelling in these areas. 7 people were wounded and 2 killed in Kharkiv in the past day alone.
Kharkiv region: active battles are taking place around Izium, and in particular in Barvinkove.
Luhansk region: Russian occupying forces are shelling the residential areas of all cities [of the region]. The most intense situation was in Popasna. Street fighting has been going on in the city for several weeks, and the Russian army is constantly covering apartment buildings and private houses with fire. Yesterday alone, locals withstood five artillery attacks by the aggressors. 3 civilians and 1 serviceman were killed. 1 woman was injured.
Donetsk region: at night, there was shelling along the entire front line.
In the morning, the shelling of Niu-York settlement [Donetsk region] was reported (5 houses were damaged, the Niu-York settlement and the village of Pivdenne were cut off from power) and the aggressors intensified shelling near Marinka and Novomykhailivka.
Mariupol: the blockade continues. The Ukrainian military is holding on. Today there will be another attempt to evacuate the local residents from Mariupol to Zaporizhzhia.
In the Kherson region, the occupiers continue to shell the settlements of the region and launch missiles from the territory of the occupied villages towards Mykolaiv and the Dnipropetrovsk region.
The situation in the region is on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe.
Mykolaiv region: explosions were heard at night. According to preliminary information, there was a missile strike; no casualties have been reported. Windows in houses are broken, power lines are damaged.
The situation in the region is under control.
