Defenders of the Ukrainian city of Mariupol say footage from the suburbs of Kyiv is appalling, but the situation in Mariupol, which is blockaded by the Russian occupiers, is much worse.

Quote: "Terrifying footage from Irpin, Hostomel, Bucha... Tortured to death, killed by the Russian occupiers, civilians have been found in mass graves and with their hands tied in the streets.

The losses in Mariupol, a city which is still blockaded by Russian occupiers and without communication, are still unknown."

Details: Captain Bohdan Krotevych, Chief of Staff of the Azov Regiment, said that the situation in the city is critical and up to 200,000 Ukrainians are under rubble or in bomb shelters, under constant fire from the Russian occupiers.

Quote: "They have no food, water, electricity. We have no way to help them, because we are fighting fierce battles in the city. What is happening now in Mariupol is a genocide of the Ukrainian population."

According to Krotevych, the defenders of Mariupol will speak with the Russian occupiers only in the language of weapons.

Background: On 1 April, the Mayor of Bucha, Anatoly Fedoruk, announced the liberation of the city from the Russian occupiers.

After that, information began to come out about the atrocities committed by the Russian military in the occupied city. In particular, Mayor Fedoruk said that a mass grave had been found in the city, where almost 300 people were buried, and dozens of corpses lay in the streets, some of them with their hands tied. The bodies of naked women were also found on the city streets.

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said the Russian military had deliberately killed civilians in Bucha.
