Zelenskyy: there was no tactical or strategic sense in attack on Ternopil Region

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has emphasised that there was no tactical or strategic sense in the Russian missile strike on Chortkov in the Ternopil region.

Quote: "After the missile strike in the Ternopil region, 10 people are still in hospital. There was no tactical or strategic sense in this strike, [just] as in the vast majority of other Russian strikes. It's terror, just terror."

Details: Zelensky recalled that among the victims was a 12-year-old girl from Kharkiv, who went to Ternopil Oblast to escape Russian aggression.

"Such facts will now determine how Russia is perceived by the world. Not Peter I, not Leo Tolstoy, but children - wounded and killed by Russian strikes," - said the president.

He also said that since 24 February, Russia has launched 2,606 cruise missiles at Ukraine.

Quote: "Today is the 109th day of a full-scale war, but not the 109th day when we continue to tell our partners a simple thing: Ukraine needs modern missile defence systems. The supply of such systems was possible this year, last year and earlier. Did we get them? No. Do we need them? Yes.

These are lives that could have been saved, these are tragedies that could have been prevented if Ukraine had been listened to."

Background: As a result of a rocket attack on Chortkiv, Ternopil Region, on the evening of June 11, 23 people were injured, including civilians and soldiers. In particular, a 12-year-old girl was injured. 10 people are in hospital.
