Quote from Matvieieva: "We need both technical staffing of these units and training. Each of these units should include two special vehicles, engineering equipment for mine clearance and protective clothing for personnel."

Details: She said that while there are specialists for primary mine clearance, there may not be enough people when it comes to all the de-occupied territories. New bomb disposal engineers are being trained and the skills of those already in post are being upgraded.

At the same time, many international partners have a desire to take part in the humanitarian clearance of mines from Ukraine.

Reminder: According to the State Emergency Service, some 300,000 square kilometres of Ukrainian territory are in need of humanitarian mine clearance due to the large amount of munitions left by Russian forces.
